Bochum University : Architecture and Spirit from the Revolution

When my father joined the University of Bochum in the late
sixties, subscribing to Mechanical Engineering, he was one of
the first students ever of this novel institution. Educational
class fights had caused free studies for everybody
previously, followed by huge constructions of new campus,
tuition and lab buildings. Nevertheless, side effect of
this important step in west germany's post war
history was the invention of a new pragmatic style in
architecture: The university style :-)
Have a look on these examples from Bochum, NRW, FRG.

P.S.: "Beton brennt doch", means kinda
"bricks may burn, too, at the end!"
